One of our annual fundraisers, the Awake the Grapes 5k/10k Vineyard Run, is fast approaching and we need your help!
Our event is the Sunday morning of Memorial Weekend (that’s May 24th this year) at Carlos Creek Winery. We co-host this with the Alexandria Kiwanis and each of our groups provide volunteers for the event.
The AFSC specifically provides volunteers race day for registration/check in and for course direction. These are important jobs and only take a few hours out of your day. See times and job descriptions on our Sign Up Genius, and more importantly, sign up to help:

You can also help by promoting our event from now until race day!
Proceeds from race registrations are split between our organization and Kiwanis. So more participants equals more money coming back to the club! The 10K race starts at 9am and the 5K race at 9:15am. These are FUN runs–we have all sorts of people participate, from serious runners to families, groups of friends to those looking for a morning walk that’s 5K long and ends with good entertainment at Carlos Creek. If you register before May 3rd, you get a race t-shirt with your registration. After that, your registration includes a drink ticket instead.
