Welcome to the Alexandria Figure Skating Club!

The Alexandria Figure Skating Club (AFSC) Skates out of the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria, MN.

AFSC offers Group Learn to Skate USA lessons for skaters learning to skate, and also private lessons for skaters advanced beyond the Learn to Skate USA Curriculum. We welcome skaters from Alexandria and all surrounding communities in west central Minnesota - from Sauk Centre to Morris, Willmar to Parkers Prairie and beyond, we welcome you to skate with us!

Please see the calendar for private and class ice times.  Registration forms are available to download. Please email your registration form to kjuettner02(at)gmail.com or mail it to the address on the contact page. Remember, you must have completed an AFSC membership form and paid your membership fees for 2019-2020 season before you may skate on any AFSC ice.

We do have some skate rentals available and can help fit skaters. Please contact a board member for more details on our rental program. We only have a limited number of skates available, so contact us early if you are interested.

PARENT MEETING for Skating Families is MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2019 at 6:45pm in the RCC View Area (during the first session of group lessons).  Jump over to Members --> Parent News for further details.

 

2020 Annual Spring Ice Review - "Lights, Camera, Action!": Information and Registration is now available!  Jump on over to our forms page for the info sheet and registration form (these will also be available at the rink as your skater will need to be measured for costume).  PLEASE NOTE THE NOVEMBER 17th DEADLINE - this is to ensure costumes for your skater, so please register as soon as possible.  The Annual Spring Ice Review is the highlight of the skater's season, let us know if you have questions!

 

Fall-Winter 2019 Private Ice:  Registration for our private ice is also available on our forms page.  This session goes from mid-October through December.

** 10-13-19 Update: Fall-Winter Skating Disciplines Class CANCELLED due to low enrollment.  Sunday Int/FS and HI/FS Private Ice will run 30 min earlier October 20, 27, November 3 and 10.  Times have been updated on the club calendar.  Thank you for your understanding!

****PLEASE NOTE****  For those skating on Thursday, October 24, 2019 ice will be later this evening.  Off ice will start at 6:15pm, Lo/FS/Hockey/Moves will start at 7:00pm and Int/FS at 8:00pm.  This has been noted on the club calendar, but has not been directly specified on the registration form.  Advanced apologies for any inconvenience.

We need Ice Monitors for the private ice sessions.  Each private ice family will be asked and is expected to volunteer for a couple sessions.  Sign up is available through Sign Up Genius - Click here to get to the sign up.

Weather Related Announcements - Generally the AFSC does not cancel ice due to the weather. However, in the event that the ice times are cancelled due to the weather, AFSC will send out email notification via the AFSC Mailing List with the details of the cancellation, and if possible local media outlets will be notified as well.

Central MN Compete USA Competition Series: The AFSC is a part of this competition series which runs January through March.  Our club hosts the Battle of the Blades in March and is a fun, low stress competition for beginning skaters.  The 2020 competition will be held on March 14, 2020!  For more information visit the series website at  www.centralminnesotaseries.org.
