Hello AFSC Skaters, Parents and Coaches: 

You are invited to the 2026 Spring Banquet/ Annual Meeting! All members of the Alexandria Figure Skating Club are invited to attend as we celebrate the accomplishments of our skaters from the 2025-2026 season. The evening will also include updates on summer activities, a preview of exciting events for the upcoming season, and the appointment of the 2026-2027 AFSC Board. 

AFSC will cover the cost of each skater’s meal.
Change for this year: The club will cover only the skater’s meal. All ticket purchases will be made through Zeffy- we will no longer charge through SportsEngine- Go Motion, as this will allow for easier accounting and tracking. 

We ask that all parents fill out the Google Form: Spring Banquet Attendee Form

• All attendees may purchase tickets at the following rates:

  • Children (under 12) : $15

Dinner will feature a pasta bar, served with breadsticks and salad. Any drinks will be the responsibility of the attendees.

ICE TIME DESCRIPTIONS¹
*Power Class: Get ready to skate stronger! Power Class focuses on building powerful skating through edge work, body control, extension, and technique focused drills that improve overall skating.  Two sections will be offered, Foundations (30 min, Freeskate 1-PrePreliminary skaters) and Development (30 min, Preliminary and higher skaters), so skaters can train with others at a similar ability level to maximize learning and challenge.  The classes will be led by Coach Lisa.

Lo/FS: Private Ice for skaters in Snowplow Sam thru FS 6 and hockey skaters.
Int/FS: Private ice time for skaters in PreFreeskate & Up to practice or receive lessons on. Moves/Skating Skills included.
HI/FS: Private ice time for skaters at a Freeskate 3 level or above. Moves/Skating Skills included.
Open/FS: Open to any skater taking private lessons at any level.
Moves: Private ice time for skaters practicing Moves/Skating Skills patterns for test. No jumps, no spins, no hockey.

Learn to Skate (LTS)

Learn to Skate (LTS) group lessons for levels Snowplow Sam (preschool ages), Basic 1-4, Hockey Skills 1-2 and Adults will be held on Monday nights starting January 5, 2026 from 6:30-7:15pm and ending on February 23, 2026 for 8 class times total. Class time includes 30min of instruction and 15min of practice ice. See specific schedule below.
MONDAYS, 6:30pm – 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23 

LTS group lessons for Basic 5 (LTS Only* (not Aspire)) and Hockey Skills 3-4 will also be held on Monday nights but starting at 7:00pm. Class time includes 15min of practice ice and 30min of instruction ending at 7:45pm.
MONDAYS (Basic 5 LTS Only*), 7:00pm – 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23
*NOTE Re: Basic 5 LTS Only – This is an LTS only Basic 5 class for younger skaters or those not quite ready for the additional Aspire programming. If you want to register for Basic 5 Aspire with the additional ice time and skating nights, please review the information below and register under Aspire on the registration page.

Aspire

Aspire group lessons for levels Basic 5-6, PreFreeskate, and Freeskate 1-6 will be held on Sunday AND Monday nights. Sundays start January 4, 2026 from 6:15-7:15pm and end on February 22, 2026 for 8 weeks total. Mondays start January 5, 2026 from 7:00-7:45pm and end on February 23, 2026 for 8 class times total. Class time on Monday night includes 15 min of practice ice and 30min of instruction. Off-Ice classes (if any) are TBD.
Your registration includes the entire schedule below:
SUNDAYS, 6:15pm (60min) – 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22  This class day will be focusing on figure skating disciplines including power, edges, jumps, spins and skills that go into creating individual programs (including Artistry in Motion, Dance).
MONDAYS, 7:00pm – 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23  This class day will consist of 15 minutes of practice ice and 30 minutes of LTS class level instruction.
TBD: OFF ICE training (if any, dependent on space needs/availability).

The Aspire program is a packaged deal to help skaters who have completed the beginning LTS levels make the change from skater to figure skater with additional ice time and programming.  Programming includes: weekly Learn to Skate USA (LTS) class level instruction; weekly curriculum covering edges, jumps, spins, Skating Skills, Artistry in Motion, Theater on Ice, Synchro; and TBD Off Ice curriculum (pending space needs).
