About Us
The Alexandria Figure Skating Club (AFSC) is a non-profit athletic organization for children and adults desiring to learn basic or advanced figure skating skills. We are a member of the US Figure Skating (USFS) organization, which is the governing body for the sport of figure skating in the United States. It is also the organization through which our national figure skating competitors advance to the Olympics.
Club funding comes from multiple sources. Members pay for ice-time and instruction. While these payments cover many expenses, they do not entirely cover expenses associated with arena ice fees and club administration costs, such as advertising, printing and postage. As a result, our club holds fund raisers and solicits sponsorships and contributions from area businesses to support our activities. We ask all of our members to patronize our contributors.
The AFSC is a volunteer club governed by an elected Board of Directors. Club rules, events, shows, and other business are managed by this board. Please notify any board member if you are interested in attending a meeting, serving on the board, or simply want to volunteer to help with club activities.
Thank you to all our volunteers and sponsors for your continuing support!
